Corporate and Executive Coaching
What is Coaching?
As defined by Coach U, "Coaching is a powerful, collaborative relationship between a coach and an individual which enables that person to realize extraordinary results through a process of discovery, goal setting, and meaningful action". The following four-minute video, "How Coaching Works", provides additional insight into the coaching process and also explains the role of the Coach and the Coachee.
Please note that you should never participate in coaching if you feel that you or someone you know need to be "fixed". Coaching is not a band-aid that can be applied to improve a person's performance. Instead, it is a partnership between two consenting individuals, where the Coachee is committed to improving his or her life in the way that he or she wants and the Coach helps them to realize that potential. It's all about moving forward.
The GROW Model of Coaching
The GROW Model is a simple method for goal setting and problem solving that is used commonly in coaching. The model provides a way to structure each individual session and the overall coaching engagement by focusing on the goals that a coachee wants to achieve. Through this model, the coach and the coachee are also able to explore the coachee's current reality, what resources he or she may need, the obstacles that might get in the way, and how committed the coachee is towards taking action.
The following four-minute video provides an overview of the GROW Model and how it can be used for coaching.
